One of our customers called me the other day with a problem. As in a lot of companies the receptionist also has administration responsibilities, filing, paperwork, etc. While she is sitting at her desk she needs some type of headset so she can easily answer and transfer calls. She also needs some way to answer calls away from her desk (she is constantly running back and forth from the filing cabinet to her desk to answer the phone).
My solution was a Plantronics H171 Headset plugged into the built-in headphone jack on the Aspirephone and a Plantronics CS55 wireless headset connected to the handset jack for while she is away from her desk. We had to go with multiple headsets because answering and transferring calls with the wireless headset is fairly cumbersome (it’s mainly designed for answering and hanging up only).
While she is at her desk she uses the wired headset in conjunction with the NEC Headset button to quickly process calls. When she is away from her desk she puts the wireless headset on and uses the remote lifter on the CS55 headset to answer calls (she still needs to go back to her desk if she needs to transfer the calls though).
